Founded in 1949 as a school of floral design, and a gift shop known as Hixson's Flower Barn, the shop and the school still serve the community from this same location.

This internationally recognized Floral Design School and unusual shop with its vast assortment of lovely gift wares and decorations is regarded as one of the most outstanding in the country.

Over the years the area of the shop dedicated to floral design and Christmas decorations grew larger and larger as more people from all across the United States requested special training in floral design and Christmas decorating.

Being the Designaholic that Bill Hixson is, his never-ending research into design has provided tricks and techniques to 1000's of florists across the country.
